I asked my brother Nathan to play the amen break for me in several different styles. I recorded them onto my phone using voice memos, and it was clipping like a motherfucker, but it sounded good as fuck, so I used the sample anyways.

This song was one of the first times I tried writing in a mode of harmonic minor, which gave it a whole different mood than most other stuff I had written up until this point. It's dissonant but has that weird eeriness that attracts you to it.

It has a companion Pagan Athletes song, called "The Shipyard", which has yet to be recorded.
